WHS CELEBRATING A WINNING SEASON!
DaSEAN GALLISHAW VARSITY/JV#39
Season 2014-2015 Lovingly Dedicated to my awesome Grandma Pearl!
DaSean #39 woke up pretty excited this morning – today he experiences being a WHS Varsity Bulldog (who regionally ranks #2) for the 1st time in the Regional Playoffs!!!
He is “dressing” varsity which means he more than likely won’t play, but he is thankful to God and grateful to Coach Kyle Simmons for blessing him with the opportunity to foretaste the next level. He will use these playoff moments of their Bulldog 2014 winning season to stand tall looking like the WINNER that he is in a varsity #39 black jersey. Congratulations DaSean!

CONGRATULATIONS DaSEAN & BULLDOGS!
Since our last blog, DaSean and his JV Bulldogs won their last two games versus their neighbors Herndon (34-8), Oakton (34-7) and Chantilly (16-7) High Schools. Yes, we beat our neighbors pretty badly. In spite of not feeling well, DaSean’s best game for the season was their last one versus Chantilly: DaSean #39 made several tackles, sacks, blocks, etc. The game’s Announcer passionately voiced “DaSean Gallishaw #39” quite often with his awesome Bulldog JV Cheerleaders voicing support in the background, you would have thought he was the only player on the field. It was a phenomenal WIN for DaSean and his fellow JV Bulldogs!
DaSean also celebrates and thank God for each of you – his supporting village of family and friends who kept him prayed up to play up. In particular, he attributes his winning season to God and the faith of his maternal Grandmother Pearl whom he dedicated this season to while wearing her birth year for the season and those to come – Number 39!
“TO MY GOD BE ALL THE GLORY!”

GAME DAY: WE TAKE ON HERNDON HS

Season 2014-2015 Lovingly Dedicated to my awesome Grandma Pearl!
IT’S BULLDOG GAME DAY FOR OUR FRESHMAN & JV TEAMS!!!
Reflective in his photo taken this morning to leave to start his student-athlete day at the awesome Westfield HS of Chantilly, VA, DaSean #39 and his powerful fellow Bulldogs are ready to face Herndon HS Hornets this week beginning tonight with our Freshman and JV Teams. DaSean was upbeat, excited, confident, yet also humble about facing his neighbors of Herndon, VA. Discussing gameday with his Mom before leaving for school, DaSean stated,
Herndon is a sure win for us, but I will play as if they are my most challenging rival team because you never know what they’ll bring in this new year.”
DaSean #39 and Taevon #87 were definitely stepping up their training game in the weight training class earlier this week in anticipation of facing the Hornets this week. By the way, not only have they both been friends since childhood, but have been playing the game of football together since their days with the Reston Seahawks youth league. Coincidentally, they both have University of Maryland Football Terps on their list of college choices.
In addition to Taevon, DaSean is surrounded by an awesome group of friend-Bulldogs many from his middle school days to include, but not limited to OL Jean-Marc Tsetou #75, DL Nauz Calhoun #96, WR Ivory Frimpong #84, LB Ladarion Rivers #53, RB Malik Robinson #38 and so many more. He is proud of each and every one of them on and off the football field and considers it an honorable blessing to have friends you call family.
CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR WHS VARSITY COACHES & TEAM ON THEIR VICTORY versus ROBINSON SECONDARY final score 31-14! Yet again, the #1 high school coach in the world, Coach Kyle Simmons, along with his phenomenal coaching staff led us to another big WIN!
Our Varsity win against Robinson included a plethora of key plays by some of our JV Bulldogs: Taevon #87 ran up the field again as our excellent kicker, OL Brian Delaney #54, kicked our beloved Bulldogs into the end zone. In fact, one kickoff made it to the 10 yard line. Brian #54 has a powerful leg; way to go Brian! And Ivory #84 was simply a WR beast for us yet again contributing greatly to our victory! Way to go Ivory!
Keep DaSean #39, his teammates and opponents in your prayers
for tonight’s and tomorrow’s games. We love and thank you in advance!

Season 2014-2015 Lovingly Dedicated to my awesome Grandma Pearl!
First and foremost, we congratulate Robinson Secondary of Fairfax on their spirited win against us! Westfield was defeated by Robinson at a final score of 38-33. Robinson had a great game and our Bulldog defense was off although they did come back giving the offense a chance to bring home the win – but they were unsuccessful; we fumbled the ball with 2 minutes left in the game. We are no longer undefeated for the season, but remained pumped up and determined to WIN going forward.
A harsh lesson was learned by DaSean and his fellow Bulldogs at this game that they played minus several teammates as a result of 1 game suspension for missing Columbus Day practice. Their Coach’s decision to bench players is a hard pill to swallow, but a great disciplinary lesson to our Bulldogs who must understand how blessed they are to play at one of the top high school student-athlete (especially football) programs in the Washington DC/Northern VA (“DMV”) region which comes with a higher price of responsibility and accountability.
Westfield humbly boasts a track record of birthing out D1 college-level as well as NFL players as a result of their dynamic yet disciplined football program. Way to go Coach Kyle Simmons and our entire phenomenal football coaching and academic teaching staff!
Congratulations to DaSean’s buddy, JV/Varsity #87 WR Taevon Chapman-Greene, who has successfully secured a position on the Kickoff Team Special m for Varsity! In fact, DaSean congratulates all of his friends and fellow JV Bulldogs who are dressed for Bulldog Varsity this season. Taevon #87 contributed to a close matchup against Robinson with a stop on 4th down to turn the ball over to us in the last minutes of the game.

Our WHS Bulldogs Sweeps #1 Centreville
DaSEAN GALLISHAW JV#39
Season 2014-2015 Lovingly Dedicated to my awesome Grandma Pearl!
This week was the best week of DaSean’s entire football life (thus far, anyway) as a result of his school teams, Westfield HS Freshman, JV and Varsity WINNING all of their games against their rival team that formerly regionally ranked #1! It was a very close WIN for our Bulldogs after continuous tied scores, two overtimes and Centreville’s failed 2-point conversion inches away from the touchdown area. Needless to say, the Bulldog family stormed our beautiful turf field immediately following the Referee’s announced “no good” for Centreville’s attempt.
Varsity Final Score 42-41. Westfield is now 4 on The Washington Post Rank and Centreville has degraded to #9 in the DMV region.
Our WHS family, friends, and community celebrated and continues to celebrate a Centreville high school football SWEEP! Congratulations DaSean & fellow Bulldogs!!!!

I’M NOW WHS JV BULLDOG DB #39
DaSean William Gallishaw’s JV #39 Football season as a Westfield Bulldog has gotten off to a great start! We have four games under our belts thus far and remain UNDEFEATED (4-0)! Even more exciting – DaSean and his fellow JV Bulldogs beat their rival, Centreville HS, on last evening at 21-26. In fact, DaSean had his best game this season on last night by contributing to his Bulldog WIN with key plays to include, but not limited to, sacks, a fumble recovery in the last quarter of the game and tackles for loss. DaSean #39 was on football fire last night.
DASEAN #39 DEDICATES HIS JV SEASON 2014
TO HIS MATERNAL GRANDMOTHER
MINISTER PEARL SHARPE
whose birth year happens to be 1939
His team started out slow in the first half at Centreville, but came out in the second half with the gusto! DaSean’s childhood friend and fellow teammate, #87 WR Taevon Chapman-Greene, who had some good stops and finally got the kickoff return in the third quarter (kicker couldn’t kick as far back as he was). He had a nice return bringing the ball up to about Centreville’s 30 yard line. Go Taevon!
Now we’re praying that our Varsity Bulldogs will cause a “sweep” on WHS’ behalf against our rival Centreville tonight at 7pm.

MY FRESHMAN BULLDOG 2013 SEASON CLOSE
DaSean closed out his inaugural high school football career as a WHS Freshman Bulldog in 2013 with a team season record of 6-2. His team’s most heartbreaking lost was to their rival Centreville HS at 0-7; their greatest win was against Fairfax at 46-0. Overall, DaSean’s Bulldogs experienced a good season as a team and he did as well as a unique individual player. Coach Shepherd utilized DaSean’s multiple football talents in various positions throughout the season although his primary position was Line Backer (LB).
MY 1ST HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL GAME!
Wow! Words cannot even begin to describe my first experience as a high school football player that took place on Thursday, Sept. 19th, at 5:45pm on my Westfield Bulldog home field. I played the Linebacker and Special Teams positions in this game. It was unimaginable and unforgettable! And to make matters even more awesome – my team WON!
The Westfield Freshman Football Bulldog game versus Lake Braddock results were 43-37. It was a challenging game as Lake Braddock is an excellent playing team, but we, the Westfield FF Bulldogs met the challenge.
MY 1st GAME DAY’S TIMELINE
I thank my Mom, extended family and friends who supported me with their attendance at my 1st game as well as those who prayed for/thought of me in their absence.
Our 2nd game (away) was yesterday, Sept. 26th, versus Fairfax HS: We Won 46-0!
